here's what a hangout looks like
you walk in. ambient music is playing. you meet the host at the dj booth, that's where you hand over your record / name of your track. then you find a spot and land. when everyone's in, the host opens with a short personal story tied to the theme. one word. announced a week before. then the records start.
one by one, someone shares the story behind a track. it plays in full. then the host asks the room: "what did you hear?" you talk about it in small groups. music plays softly in the background. then the next record goes on.
drinks come after. by then, you have plenty to talk about.
for people who’d like to share their favorite music experiences with others. no vinyl required. mentioning the track is enough.
everyone gets max 2 minutes to introduce their track to the room.
the question is about what you heard. there's no right or wrong.

we started album affairs because we wanted a space where music is actually listened to, not played in the background. where showing up solo felt completely normal, and a record does the rest.
